Sullivan's Travels Blu-ray

Hollywood director John L. Sullivan (Joel McCrea from The Palm Beach Story) decides to create a serious, socially responsible film about human suffering called O Brother, Where Art Thou? after becoming tired of making lightweight comedies. His producers challenge him, claiming he knows nothing of hardship, so Sullivan takes to the road disguised as a hobo in search of enlightenment. Along the way, he encounters a no-nonsense young woman (Veronica Lake from I Married a Witch) and more trouble than he ever anticipated. This comedic masterpiece by Preston Sturges (The Lady Eve) is considered one of the finest Hollywood satires and a highlight in the career of one of the industry's most esteemed comedic talents.
